Beta · Manual install

Install the Voisurf extension

Voisurf is currently in beta. Until the Chrome Web Store listing is live, you can sideload the extension in two minutes.

~10 KB. Manifest V3. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Arc.

Sideload in four steps

  1. STEP 01

    Download & unzip

Download voisurf-extension.zip above and unzip it somewhere stable, like ~/Applications/voisurf-extension. Don't leave it in Downloads — Chrome disables extensions whose folders move or disappear.

  2. STEP 02

    Open the extensions page

In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions. In Edge, edge://extensions. In Brave, brave://extensions.

  3. STEP 03

    Enable Developer mode

Toggle Developer mode on (top-right corner). Click Load unpacked and select the folder you unzipped in step 1.

  4. STEP 04

    Pin and sign in

Pin the Voisurf icon to your toolbar. Click it, sign in with a magic link, then press the configured push-to-talk key on any page.

Troubleshooting

  • If Chrome warns about an unpacked extension, that's expected during beta — it just means we haven't published to the Web Store yet.
  • If voice doesn't work, check that Chrome has microphone permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
  • If commands fail with a 401, your session expired. Sign in again to get a fresh token, then re-open the popup.

We'll email you when the Web Store listing is live. After that, the install is one click — no developer mode needed.
